What are the terms of the Maintenance Agreement?
HORIZON® LIMS users have the option of renewing the Annual Software Maintenance Agreement at the end of the Warranty period. The user must renew the annual Software Maintenance Agreement each year in order to receive software updates, bug patches and all other benefits of the Agreement during the year. Unless any provision of the Agreement is changed prior to renewal, the Agreement will automatically renew at the end of the maintenance year ("Anniversary Period") and payment will be due prior to the first day of the next Anniversary Period. A renewal notice and quotation for fees to renew this Agreement are provided to the user no later than sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of the then-current term. An invoice for renewal fees is sent to the user (or designee) no later than thirty (30) days prior to expiration.
What other benefits are there to the Maintenance Agreement?
In addition to software updates, the Software Maintenance Agreement entitles the customer points-of-contact to unlimited email/phone technical support through the Help Desk. Additional benefits include:
- Downloadable point releases and patches via web site
- Single point of contact for Oracle, Actuate and SDMS support
- Remote troubleshooting and support via WebEx
- Optional 24x7 emergency support
- Online HORIZON User Forum
- Invitation to User Group Meeting
- Independent software validation
Payment of maintenance fees, whether ongoing or back support, does not entitle the user to product modules or third party products marketed and sold by ChemWare as optional add-ins, nor to any current or future version of software marketed and sold under a trade name other than "HORIZON LIMS."
