The HORIZON Data Management module provides an electronic record keeping and strategy for the laboratory to capture, index and retrieve images of instrument runs, spreadsheets, SOPS, training records, standards certificates of analysis and other documents generated throughout the laboratory.
This software includes the instrument interfacing tool for building extraction templates – the technology for extracting analytical data from instrument runs and uploading into LIMS. HORIZON harnesses a technology neutral, print-to-database technique to interface windows-based instruments through the printed output (e.g., quantitation report in chromatography data). The images are captured in the database and indexed without user intervention and the images can be instantly queried directly from HORIZON LIMS. As instruments print to the database, the output is captured electronically and automatically associated with all related LIMS entities. The association is established by extracting metadata from the contents of each printed output, thus establishing full traceability to all the validatable components of the testing process.
SDMS paves the way for the paperless laboratory, allows analysts and supervisors to review analytical data generated by any instrument or device throughout the enterprise
directly from HORIZON, and unifies the repository for all lab documents so they can be automatically queried and assembled into desktop applications or report deliverables.
