Robert J. Whitehead
, Vice President/General Manager, also held senior management positions at one of the nation's largest environmental and drug testing labs prior to joining ChemWare in 1996. He has been working in the environmental and clinical laboratory industries since 1981, including several years as a lab management consultant. His primary areas of expertise are in laboratory operations and quality assurance, project management, information management, and business and strategic planning. Mr. Whitehead is Chairman of the Audit and Ethics Committee and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)
, an active member of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL)
, The NELAC Institute (TNI)
, and Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL)
, and has served as a LIS industry specialist on National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP)
inspections of Federal workplace drug testing laboratories. He is the author or co-author of over a dozen management and technical articles published in leading environmental and clinical laboratory trade journals, a key contributor to the ASTM D34.02.10 standard on Data Quality Objectives (later incorporated into Guide 25/ISO-17025), and is currently serving as sub-section leader on the task force assigned to update the ASTM E13.15 Standard Guide for Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
