Robert J. Whitehead, Vice President/General Manager, also held senior management positions at one of the nation's largest environmental and drug testing labs prior to joining ChemWare in 1996. He has been working in the environmental and clinical laboratory industries since 1981, including several years as a lab management consultant. His primary areas of expertise are in laboratory operations and quality assurance, project management, information management, and business and strategic planning. Mr. Whitehead is Chairman of the Audit and Ethics Committee on the Board of Directors for the
American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), an active member of the
American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL),
The NELAC Institute (TNI), and
Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), and has served as a LIS industry specialist on
National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP) inspections of Federal workplace drug testing laboratories. He is the author or co-author of over a dozen management and technical articles published in leading environmental and clinical laboratory trade journals and was a key contributor to the ASTM D34.02.10 standard on Data Quality Objectives (later incorporated into Guide 25/ISO-17025).
